HARD TIMES IN SCOTLAND

Hard Times in Scotland flyer. Sunday night at the Tunnel in Glasgow, 5th February 1995. Gareth and myself were djing with Miles and Elliot from Manchester. It was all going well...until one of the Glaswegian crowd decided to rip off Barbara Tuckers wig during her live performance which led to her and her team of dancers storming off. Other than that it was a good night... Miles and Elliot are two of the best dj's I have played with or heard and are also responsible, along with Si Brad for one of the best house records I've ever heard, Paper Music Issue #1 - Downtime on Paper Recordings 1995. Downtime was the second release on Paper Recordings, the first being "The Book" by Salt City Orchestra (another pseudonym for Miles, Elliot and Si) which really captured the mood at the time - a new wave in British house music.

  1. Davy, i was at the one here in A/deen feat. Robert Owens plus Miles Holloway & Elliot Eastwick. I've still got the flyer for it. It was a cracker of a night. Mr Owens was singing & spinning.

The night ended on a sour note though, we ended up having a pitched battle outside the palace nightclub at closing time because we thought some twat was going to pull a blade on a boy that was in our company.
It ended up in a mass brawl that involved loads of us, the other lads and bouncers from the ministry & the palace nightclubs.

    regards

    SoS...
